Nkyea is more than just a language learning platform — it’s a cultural bridge, built to help Ghanaians in the diaspora and curious learners around the world reconnect with their roots through authentic Twi education. From complete beginners to heritage speakers, our mission is to make learning African languages effective, engaging, and accessible to everyone.
Who We Are
Nkyea Twi Primer was created by Nana Sarpong, a Ghanaian developer with a passion for
language, technology, and cultural preservation. With years of experience in app development and education,
Nana set out to create an iOS app that simplifies Twi grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary — using smart
AI feedback, quizzes, and real instructor sessions.
Nkyea is currently available as a fully-featured iOS app, and it’s just the beginning. We’re expanding to include
other languages like Fante, Ewe, Swahili, and more — building a full ecosystem for African language learners.
Why It Matters
Language is identity. For many in the diaspora, reconnecting with Twi means reclaiming stories, honoring ancestors, and feeling at home again. At Nkyea, we believe that by making African languages easier to learn, we empower generations to carry their heritage with confidence.
